Cherokee County, Georgia's adopted FY2026 budget — $438,576,565 across all county funds, including a $176,561,958 General Fund — from the county's published Fiscal Year 2026 Adopted Budget, plus audited FY2025 figures from its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Every figure below is cited to those documents.
Source: Fiscal Year 2026 Adopted Budget, Cherokee County, Georgia — Expenditure Summary (pp. 112–113) and Combined Statement of Revenues and Expenditures, All Funds (p. 90); and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, Cherokee County, Georgia, for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025 — Balance Sheet, Governmental Funds (p. 18); Note 6 (pp. 40–41); Demographic and Economic Statistics (p. 114).
Source: Agency totals are the book's "General Fund — Summarized Operating Budget FY2026" (pp. 158–159) in the Fiscal Year 2026 Adopted Budget; every row of that table is accounted for above and sums exactly to the stated "Total Operating Budget." Shares are computed from the book's own figures and may not sum to 100.0% due to rounding.
Source: Debt as itemized in the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report's Note 6 (p. 40). Bonded debt alone is $25,100,000 (MD&A, p. 15). Note 6's broader "long-term liabilities" bottom line is $54,957,488, which adds claims payable, compensated absences ($23,705,272) and landfill postclosure costs to the debt above; those are not debt and are not included, and the net pension liability ($101,668,244) is reported separately. The ACFR's statistical table (p. 109) prints a total of $28,072,526 — $2 higher than Note 6; this page uses Note 6's itemized figure.
The budget figures are the adopted FY2026 amounts from the Fiscal Year 2026 Adopted Budget, Cherokee County, Georgia. Cherokee County's fiscal year runs October 1 to September 30, so FY2026 runs October 2025 – September 2026. The book presents the $438,576,565 total as the budget "for all county funds"; the General Fund figure of $176,561,958 includes $16,471,761 of interfund transfers, which the book counts in the fund's operating budget total.
Fund balance, debt, and population figures are audited FY2025 results from the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025. The ACFR figures were verified against the county-hosted copy of the same FY2025 Final ACFR while the state portal copy was down for maintenance. Population is the ACFR statistical section's estimate for the year ended September 30, 2025 (p. 114).
